Wasserturm Palais Hamburg – Development and Contemporary Use
The Wasserturm Palais in Hamburg-Eimsbüttel stands as a benchmark example of adaptive reuse and value preservation in urban real estate. Originally built in 1910 as part of Hamburg’s public water infrastructure, the structure was decommissioned in the late 20th century and subsequently recognised as a site of architectural and historic significance.
Since its comprehensive redevelopment in the early 2000s, the building has been transformed from a functional utility asset into a high-end mixed-use property. While the historic brick façade and distinctive tower silhouette have been carefully preserved, the interior was reimagined to house exclusive residential units, premium office suites, and curated retail spaces—balancing heritage with modern functionality.
As Executive Director of the asset’s management entity, I oversee the Wasserturm Palais’ ongoing operation and strategic positioning. This includes maintaining the integrity of the building’s architectural heritage, ensuring optimal tenant mix, managing leasing activities, and driving long-term value through proactive asset management.
Today, the Wasserturm Palais is regarded as a sought-after address in Hamburg’s prime real estate landscape, attracting private residents and commercial tenants alike. Its unique combination of location, architectural character, and operational excellence makes it a landmark example of sustainable urban asset stewardship.

my motivation
I am fascinated by the combination of capital allocation, strategic thinking, and real impact on the cityscape. Through my dual studies and my family environment, I learned early on how real estate creates value—and I see the greatest leverage in the investment sector. I want to make decisions that have a long-term impact, both economically and socially.
